🌿 Easy Zhoug Sauce

A bold and spicy Middle Eastern herb sauce made with fresh cilantro, garlic, and chili peppers. Easy zhoug sauce adds vibrant flavor to grilled meats, vegetables, sandwiches, and dips.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp ground coriander
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2–3 tbsp water (as needed)

  • Food processor or blender
  • Knife
  • Cutting board

Method
 

  1. Add cilantro, garlic, and chili peppers to a food processor.

  2. Pulse until roughly chopped.
  3. Add olive oil, lemon juice, cumin, coriander, and salt.

  4. Blend until smooth, adding water gradually to reach desired consistency.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  6. Transfer to a jar and serve immediately or refrigerate.

Notes

  • Adjust chili amount depending on how spicy you like it.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
